WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY OBLIGATIONS
23.1
Regulatory Compliance - it is the employer's
responsibility to provide a safe working environment for employees. Whilst this
is a very 'grey area' when it comes to Bird Flu, there were instances after
SARS where employers were held liable. The insurance industry paid out over
US$15m in SARS related claims.
23.2
Each country has its own workplace Regulatory Compliance obligations so you should check your own country’s Employment Ordinance to ensure you put into effect any and all measures required by your local
regulators.

A common trait amongst all countries' Regulatory Compliance obligations
for workplace Health and Safety (in countries which have one) is that it is
the employer's responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees.
23.4
